Smart Home Automation: My Journey to a Connected Living Space

I’ve been on an exciting journey to automate my home, and I’d love to share my experiences with you! :rocket:

My setup started with a few smart plugs and sensors, but quickly grew into a full-fledged system using Home Assistant as the hub. One of my favorite additions has been integrating my Shelly RGBW2 with LED strips in the bedroom. It’s amazing how a simple automation can turn on the lights when I walk in or dim them to a cozy setting in the evening. :bulb::sparkles:

I’ve also been experimenting with OpenEVSE for my electric vehicle. The ability to monitor solar production and adjust charging based on real-time data has been a game-changer! :rocket::zap:

One challenge I faced was getting my Ring cameras to work seamlessly with Alexa routines. After some research, I found a clever workaround using a Tasmota-based switch to emulate Wemo devices. It’s now a breeze to trigger notifications based on motion detected at my front door. :stop_sign::bell:

I’d love to hear about your smart home setups and any tips or tricks you’ve discovered along the way! Let’s continue to inspire each other and make our homes smarter and more connected. :handshake::sparkles:
