I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my smart home setup, and I wanted to share my experiences and some tips with the community! ![]()
I’ve been using Tado for my heating system, and it’s been a game-changer. I have a wireless temperature sensor downstairs controlling my floor heating, which works like a charm. However, I ran into an issue with my upstairs radiators—they were being overridden by the downstairs system. After some research, I decided to add a second Tado wireless sensor for the upstairs zone. Configuring it separately was a bit of a learning curve, but it’s now working perfectly! I can manage both zones independently, which is such a relief. ![]()
Another thing I’ve loved is experimenting with lights. I recently tried out some DIY projects with my Govee lights, and they’ve completely transformed my space. I’ve been using them to create cozy ambiance and even set up some fun scenes for holidays. The color transitions are smooth, and the app makes it so easy to customize everything. ![]()
For those interested in DIY projects, I’ve also been tinkering with a Shelly 3EM to monitor my PV system. It’s been a fun challenge to integrate it with an ESP8266 to control LED lights based on energy usage. While I’m still perfecting the code, it’s been an incredible learning experience! ![]()
