This Valentine’s Day, I decided to take my smart home setup to the next level by creating a romantic ambiance using my Govee curtains and floor lamp. 
It was a fantastic experience to sync the floor lamp to our favorite song using music sync and set the perfect romantic vibe for my husband. The Govee Valentine’s Day theme on the curtains added the perfect touch to the evening! 
I’ve been exploring the world of smart home automation for a while now, and it’s amazing how much you can do with the right setup. For example, I’ve been working on simplifying my window cover automations based on the sun’s azimuth and elevation. Previously, I had 8 different automations for each cover, but I managed to condense them into a single automation per cover using some clever coding. It’s a game-changer for maximizing cooling in the summer and heating in the winter! 
Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is integrating multiple brands into one cohesive system. It’s been a bit of a challenge, but the results are worth it. For instance, I recently added a Tapo KE100 radiator thermostat and was curious about its control behavior. After some research and testing, I discovered that it operates using a modulating control mechanism, which is perfect for maintaining consistent flow rates in my heat pump system. 
One thing I’ve noticed is that the smart home community is incredibly supportive. Whether you’re troubleshooting an issue or just looking for tips, there’s always someone willing to help. For example, I reached out to the community about a problem with my Zigbee2MQTT setup, and someone suggested checking the device integration settings, which solved the issue! 
I’m constantly inspired by the creativity and innovation within the smart home space. From automating lights to dim when the TV plays to setting up geofencing for my smart switches, there’s always something new to explore. It’s exciting to think about what the future holds for smart home technology and how it can continue to enhance our daily lives.
