Smart Home Automation Success: Govee Lights & Shelly Integration

I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my recent smart home setup using Govee RGB lights and Shelly devices, all managed through OpenHAB. It’s amazing how these technologies work seamlessly together to create a truly connected home.

Govee RGB Lights: These are hands down the best RGB lights I’ve ever used. The vibrant colors and smooth transitions are perfect for creating different moods in my living space. I especially love how easy it is to control them through my smartphone or voice commands.

Shelly Integration: I’ve been using Shelly devices to monitor and control my outdoor lights. Setting up the Shelly 1PM was a breeze, and it’s been incredibly reliable. The ability to track energy usage in real-time is a fantastic feature. Plus, integrating it with OpenHAB has allowed me to create some really smart automations.

OpenHAB Automation: Here’s where the magic happens. I’ve created a vacation mode that does several things:

  • Randomly opens and closes my smart blinds throughout the day
  • Turns lights on and off at random intervals
  • Adjusts the thermostat to a more energy-efficient setting
  • Arms my security system

It’s been a fantastic way to simulate occupancy while I’m away, giving me peace of mind. The whole setup has been so easy to configure, and the community support has been incredible.

I’d love to hear how others are using OpenHAB for vacation mode or other creative automations! :raised_hands:
