Hey everyone! I wanted to share some of my recent successes and tips for anyone looking to dive deeper into smart home automation. ![]()
First, I’ve been absolutely thrilled with how my Wyze cameras have performed after updating their firmware. The video quality and reliability have improved tremendously! If you haven’t done it yet, I highly recommend checking for firmware updates in the Wyze app. It’s a quick fix that makes a world of difference. ![]()

On the automation front, I’ve been experimenting with Shelly devices to streamline my lighting controls. Using the Shelly i3 with some clever HTTP requests, I was able to create a system where multiple switches control a single lamp. The best part? The lamp stays on unless all switches are turned off. It took some trial and error, but it’s such a neat solution for saving space in my home. ![]()

Another project I’m proud of is integrating my Z-Wave devices with Vera-Edge. Setting up a multi-zone heating system was a bit of a challenge, but it’s been worth it. The ability to control each room’s temperature independently has made my home much more comfortable. If anyone has questions about Z-Wave compatibility or scene settings, feel free to ask!

Lastly, I stumbled upon the Google Home Developers website and it’s been a goldmine for learning how to customize my Wyze devices even further. It’s amazing how much control you can have with a little bit of coding knowledge. If you’re into DIY projects, this is definitely a resource worth exploring. ![]()
