Hey everyone! I wanted to share a fun and successful project I recently worked on using my smart home setup. It was a gender reveal party for my partner, and I wanted to make it extra special with some smart home magic.
I used CoRE along with two SmartThings Outlets to create a light-up reveal. Here’s how it went down:
- Setup: I plugged a blue light into one outlet and a pink light into another. The idea was to have the lights randomly flash for a minute, then reveal the gender by having one color stay on.
- Automation: I programmed the outlets to alternate between the two lights, creating a fun countdown effect.
- The Big Reveal: At the exact time, both lights turned on. After a minute, the pink light stayed on, revealing that we’re having a girl! The guests loved it, and it was such a cool way to incorporate smart tech into a personal celebration.
