Smart Home Automation Success Story: Enhancing Home Security

Recently, I faced a challenge with my smart home setup that I wanted to share and discuss. I installed motion sensors in my living room to enhance security, but they kept triggering false alarms due to the movement of my curtains caused by the HVAC fan. This was quite frustrating as it led to unwanted night lights turning on throughout the night. After some research and experimentation, I found a clever solution. I adjusted the sensitivity settings on my Aeon Multisensor and repositioned the sensors away from the direct path of the curtains. Additionally, I set up a smart app rule in my automation system to ignore motion events during specific times when the HVAC fan is typically running. This combination of hardware adjustments and software rules significantly reduced the false triggers.I’d love to hear if others have encountered similar issues and how they resolved them. Have you found other innovative ways to manage sensor sensitivity or integrate smart apps for better automation? Sharing experiences can help us all improve our smart home setups!
