After months of research and planning, I finally set up my Homematic rolladen control system, and it’s been a game-changer! 
The goal was to automate my blinds for summer shading, and I wanted something reliable and energy-efficient. I explored several options, including Helligkeitssensor and Sonnensensoren, but faced challenges with placement and weatherproofing. 
Eventually, I decided on the Temperatur-Differenz-Sensor HM-WDS30-OT2-SM-2. The idea was to place one sensor in direct sunlight and the other in the shade, creating a temperature difference that triggers the blinds. 
It took some trial and error, especially with scripting to handle the temperature differential, but the system now works seamlessly! 
Here’s what I learned:
- Placement is key: Ensure sensors are in optimal positions for consistent readings.
- Scripting can save the day: A simple script adjusted the temperature differential to avoid false triggers.
- Patience pays off: Testing different scenarios helped refine the system.
This setup not only enhances comfort but also reduces energy costs by minimizing direct sunlight during peak hours.
