Hello everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating Govee and Shelly devices into my smart home setup. It’s been an exciting journey, and I thought I’d walk through my process and some tips I’ve picked up along the way. 
The Setup
I’ve been a fan of Govee LED lights for years, and recently, I decided to expand my setup with some Shelly devices to enhance automation. My goal was to create a seamless system where lights could be controlled both manually and through sensors. Tips and Tricks
- Firmware Updates: Always make sure your devices are on the latest firmware. It can make a world of difference in terms of performance and compatibility.
- Scene Automation: I’ve found that creating scenes in Home Assistant has been incredibly helpful. For example, I set up a “Morning Coffee” scene that turns on the under-cabinet lights and starts brewing my coffee at the same time. It’s a small thing, but it makes mornings so much better!
- Battery Life: For devices that run on batteries, like my Shelly 1, I’ve noticed that using power-saving modes can significantly extend battery life without affecting functionality.
The Results
Now, my kitchen feels like a whole new space. The Govee lights add a nice ambiance, and having everything controlled through my phone or voice commands is incredibly convenient. It’s little moments like walking into the kitchen in the morning and seeing the lights already on that make me grateful for how far smart home tech has come.
