Hi everyone! I wanted to share a success story about my smart home automation setup. I recently installed two Shelly 1PM switches to control my hallway lights. The goal was to have the lights turn on when someone enters the hallway and turn off when they leave, but also allow manual control via a wall switch.
Initially, I followed the wiring diagram exactly as recommended, connecting the live wire to the Shelly and the neutral wire directly to the lamp. However, I encountered an issue where the wall switch wasn’t working independently of the smart switch. After some troubleshooting, I realized the problem was with the wiring configuration. By adjusting the connections to ensure the wall switch and Shelly switch were truly independent, I finally achieved the desired functionality.
Now, the system works perfectly: the lights come on when motion is detected, and the wall switch allows manual override without interfering with the automatic controls. It’s a great balance of convenience and control!
If anyone else is working on a similar project, I’d be happy to share more details or answer questions. Happy smart home tinkering! ![]()
