I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating my Ring doorbell and Zigbee motion sensors after moving my SmartThings hub. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, but I learned a lot along the way!
Initially, I was facing some connectivity issues with my Zigbee motion sensors after changing the Wi-Fi channel to 1. They kept losing connection and required battery removal to reconnect. It was perplexing because my other Zigbee devices like the open/close sensors were working perfectly. After some research and adjusting the placement, I realized the interference might be more localized than I thought.
On the plus side, moving the hub and changing the Wi-Fi channel did wonders for my Ring doorbell’s video quality! It’s now smooth and clear, which was a huge improvement.
I’d love to hear if others have experienced similar issues with Zigbee motion sensors and how they resolved them. Also, any tips for optimizing Zigbee network performance would be greatly appreciated!
