Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent success with integrating Philips Hue into my aquarium setup. Over two years ago, I took a brand new $90 Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus and painstakingly chopped it into six segments to fit into my two aquarium hoods. I’m happy to report that it still works great despite the high moisture levels, and enclosed space with poor airflow. Great to have the aquarium tied into Smartthings: https://youtu.be/PDrq07pdke8
The process wasn’t without challenges. I had to carefully plan the placement of each segment to ensure even lighting without overcrowding the space. The Hue strips have held up remarkably well, and the integration with Smartthings has allowed me to automate lighting schedules and monitor the aquarium environment remotely.
I’d love to hear about others’ experiences with integrating Philips Hue into unique or challenging spaces. Have you found any innovative solutions or faced similar challenges? Let’s share and learn together!
