I’ve been on a journey to automate my smart home, and I’m thrilled to share my recent successes and lessons learned. ![]()
Qubino Flush 1D Gate Opener Integration
One of my most rewarding projects has been integrating the Qubino Flush 1D as a gate opener. Initially, I faced some challenges with automating the ‘lock open’ functionality using SmartThings and webCoRE. The delay in button press acknowledgment was a hurdle, but after some trial and error, I managed to configure the device handler to use a momentary button with a quick pulse. This tweak allowed me to automate the gate-opening routine seamlessly. The satisfaction of watching my gates open and close with precision is unmatched! ![]()
Velux Active with Netatmo Integration
Another exciting addition to my setup is the Velux Active system, integrated with Netatmo. This combination has transformed how I control my skylights and blinds. The ability to unlock and open windows via the app, along with scenario-based automation, has been a game-changer. I especially appreciate the multi-home and room hierarchy support, making it easy to manage devices across different areas of my home. ![]()
