After spending hours researching and setting up my first Shelly device, I’m thrilled to share my experience! My goal was to integrate a new video doorbell with HomeKit, and the Robin Proline Compact exceeded my expectations. It streams video and audio to my iPhone and Apple TV, and recordings are stored securely in iCloud. The setup was straightforward, but I encountered a small challenge—getting notifications to work consistently across all HomePods.
Here’s where the Shelly came to the rescue. By connecting it to the existing 12V system for my doorbell, I was able to create a seamless automation. When the doorbell rings, the Shelly detects the signal and triggers additional actions in HomeKit, like turning on lights or sending custom notifications. The best part? It all works without any coding or complex setup.
