Winter is here, and there’s nothing better than coming home to a warm and cozy space! 
I wanted to share some of my favorite smart home automation tips that have really helped me enjoy the colder months. Plus, I have a few questions for the community to get your insights!
1. Heating Automation Setup
I recently set up my Fibaro thermostat to pre-heat my home based on my daily schedule. It’s been a game-changer! The best part is that I can adjust it on the go using the Fibaro app. If anyone has tips on optimizing this setup, I’d love to hear them!
2. Energy Monitoring
I’m curious about the best ways to monitor energy usage, especially with a heat pump. I’ve heard great things about Aeotec energy meters and Fibaro switches. Have any of you tried these? What’s your experience with tracking energy consumption during the winter months?
3. Smart Lighting for Mood
I’ve been experimenting with smart lighting scenes to create different moods in my home. Using my Shelly devices, I can set up warm, dim lighting for movie nights or bright, energizing lights for mornings. It’s amazing how much this simple tweak can impact my daily routine!
4. Security and Sensors
One thing I’m still figuring out is how to integrate my motion sensors with heating controls. For example, turning off the heat in unused rooms when no one is there. If anyone has a clever workaround or automation setup for this, I’d be grateful for the advice!
5. Battery Management
Lastly, I want to talk about battery management for smart devices. I’ve had some issues with sensors losing power during the winter, which is inconvenient. What strategies do you use to ensure your devices stay powered up during the colder months?
