Smart Home Battery and Automation Insights

Greetings, fellow smart home enthusiasts! :star2: I wanted to share some insights and experiences from my journey with smart home automation, particularly focusing on battery life and creative automation setups.

Like many of you, I’ve been using smart thermostats (TRVs) for several years now, and battery management has always been a key concern. I’ve experimented with various battery brands, and so far, Duracell has been my go-to. The Plus series, in particular, has delivered an impressive 530 days of operation, which is remarkable! I’m currently testing Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries to see how they compare. If anyone has experiences or recommendations, I’d love to hear them! :adult::wrench::battery:

On another note, I’ve been exploring creative ways to enhance my home’s security and ambiance. For instance, I’ve set up my lights to turn off at random times between 22:00 and 23:00, creating the illusion of someone being home. This adds an extra layer of security without being too predictable. It’s a simple yet effective setup that involves using input sliders and time-based triggers. If you’re interested in replicating this, feel free to reach out, and I’d be happy to share the details! :night_with_stars::bulb:

I’d also love to hear about your experiences with integrating different smart devices, especially if you’ve found innovative ways to combine them for unique functionalities. Whether it’s automating your lighting, enhancing your home security, or creating a seamless entertainment setup, let’s continue to inspire each other with our smart home adventures! :rocket::sparkles:

Happy automating! :raised_hands:
