Smart Home Camera Issues and Thermostat Control Questions

Hello everyone, I wanted to share some of my recent experiences with my smart home setup and also ask for some advice regarding thermostat control. Hopefully, someone here can help me out or share their expertise!

First, I’ve been having some trouble with my Netatmo Welcome cameras. They suddenly stopped working, showing the error message, “Video unavailable. The camera is disconnected.” This is really frustrating because they’ve been working perfectly for months. I haven’t made any changes to my internet setup, so I’m not sure what’s causing this issue. I’ve tried resetting the cameras and checking the Wi-Fi connection, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, did you find a solution?

While I’m on the topic of cameras, I also wanted to share a fun DIY project I recently completed. I made an RGBIC lantern using some leftover materials. It’s been a great addition to my home decor, especially during the holidays. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried similar projects or has any tips for improving the design!

Now, onto my main question. I’m planning to upgrade my thermostat system and would like to know if anyone has experience with the Shelly Temp unit and switches. My house uses hot water radiators, which are essentially an on/off system. I’m curious if it’s possible to use the Shelly Temp unit and one of their switches/relays to control the heating. I’ve heard great things about Shelly products, but I want to make sure they’ll work with my setup before making any purchases.

Additionally, I’ve been experimenting with MQTT and Home Assistant. I recently set up a BLE presence monitor using Monitor, but I’m having trouble getting the MQTT integration to work properly. The sensors show up as “unknown,” and I’m not sure why. I’ve tried restarting Mosquitto and checking the logs, but I’m not seeing any clear errors. If anyone has experience with MQTT and Home Assistant, I’d appreciate any troubleshooting tips!

Finally, I’d like to thank everyone in this community for their helpful advice and support. It’s great to have such a knowledgeable and friendly group to turn to when I run into issues or have questions. I hope I can contribute something useful in return!

Best regards,
