Smart Home Integration Challenges and Successes

Hello everyone, I’m excited to share my journey with integrating various smart home devices into my ecosystem. While the process has been mostly smooth, I’ve encountered a few hurdles that I’d love to get some advice on.

First, I recently added a Shelly Motion sensor to my setup. It’s been a bit of a puzzle getting the IO actions to save properly. Every time I try to remove a device from the list, the app confirms the changes, but upon reopening, the device is still there. I’ve tried following the troubleshooting steps, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it?

Another challenge I’m facing is with my thermostat. It’s not responding as quickly as I’d like when the temperature changes. For instance, when it’s time to heat up, the system keeps running past the set temperature, making the room too warm. I’ve adjusted the settings a few times, but the issue persists. I’m wondering if this is a common problem or if there’s a specific troubleshooting step I should take.

On the positive side, I’ve successfully integrated my Wyze cameras into the system, and they’ve been performing exceptionally well. The motion detection is spot on, and the video quality is impressive. It’s been a great addition to my home security setup.

I’m also in the process of setting up some automation rules, but I’m still getting the hang of it. I’d love to hear from anyone who has tips or best practices for creating effective rules, especially for managing multiple devices across different brands.

Overall, I’m really enjoying the journey of building my smart home, and I’m grateful for the supportive community here. I look forward to learning more and overcoming these challenges together!

Thanks in advance for your insights and suggestions!
