Starting with lighting, I’ve had amazing success with Govee bulbs. For instance, I’ve created a routine where my lights dim and change color when it’s time to wind down for the evening. It’s such a cozy touch! 
When it comes to security, I’ve been a big fan of Ring cameras. However, I faced some initial challenges with reliability due to API changes. To ensure I never miss an alert, I set up a belt-and-braces system using both the Ring integration and IFTTT. This way, even if one method fails, the other kicks in. The setup involved creating webhooks and automations in Home Assistant, which was a bit of a learning curve, but totally worth it for peace of mind. 
One area I’ve been exploring lately is Z-Wave integration. I recently added a Zooz tilt sensor to monitor my garage door. While it’s been mostly reliable, I noticed that it sometimes doesn’t detect quick movements accurately. After some research, I adjusted the sensitivity settings in the app, and that seems to have made a big difference!
