I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration over the past few months, and it’s been a fascinating journey! From setting up energy meters to automating lighting systems, there’s so much to explore. However, I’ve hit a few bumps along the way and thought I’d share my experiences and questions with the community.
One thing I’ve been particularly interested in is semantic tagging. I’ve created some tags for my EBO 2022 setup, but I’m not entirely sure how to access them through the Smart Connector. I found a folder labeled “Ontology Graph,” but I’m stuck on what to do next. If I understand correctly, third-party companies could use this structure to browse data without knowing the actual SBO path. Is that right? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
Another area I’ve been experimenting with is energy monitoring. I’ve set up several energy meters in OpenHAB and would love to convert the kWh readings into euros and CO2 emissions. The formulas seem straightforward: cost (euro) = 0.1206 * kWh and CO2 (kg) = 0.09 * kWh. Is there a way to configure this transformation within OpenHAB? It would be fantastic to have all this data in one place!
On the topic of cameras, I’ve noticed that some devices aren’t fully supported in routines. For example, my Eufy doorbell camera shows up as unsupported in the Alexa app. Has anyone else encountered this issue, or found a workaround? I’d love to integrate it seamlessly into my smart home setup.
Christmas is just around the corner, and I’ve been thinking about how to enhance my holiday decorations with smart lights. I’ve seen some amazing setups online, but I’m not sure where to start. Any tips or recommendations for creating a festive and energy-efficient display would be wonderful!
Lastly, I’ve been dealing with excessive notifications from my garage door sensor. It used to work perfectly, but now I’m getting multiple alerts for each opening and closing. I see the activity feed shows “Opening, Open, Closing, Closed,” but then it also triggers a “contact” open and closed event two minutes later. I don’t even have a contact sensor on this device. Any ideas on how to resolve this would be fantastic!
It’s amazing how much potential there is with smart home technology, but it can definitely be a bit overwhelming at times. I’m really grateful for communities like this that help share knowledge and troubleshoot issues. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
