Smart Home Journey: DIY Projects, Integrations, and Learning

Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to join this amazing community and share my journey into the world of smart home technology. As a newbie, I’ve been exploring various projects and products, and it’s been an incredible learning experience!

One of my favorite projects so far has been setting up a DIY rocket-themed LED display for New Year’s Eve. It was a fun way to combine my love for DIY electronics with smart home automation. I used Govee LEDs and created a simple DIY frame to showcase the rocket design. It was a hit during the celebrations! :fireworks:

I’ve also been experimenting with integrating different devices. For instance, I recently tried connecting my Huawei SUN2000 inverter to my smart home system using Modbus TCP. It was a bit challenging, but I managed to set it up with the help of some tutorials. Now, I can monitor my solar energy production directly from my phone! :sun_with_face:

However, I’m facing an issue with my morninglinc door lock after updating the firmware. It doesn’t respond to the admin console, although it works fine with the mini remote. Has anyone encountered this before or have any suggestions? :rocket:

Another thing I’ve been curious about is whether it’s healthy to leave lights on overnight. I’ve heard conflicting opinions, so I’d love to hear what others think or any studies they might have come across. :bulb:

Overall, I’m really enjoying the journey of building my smart home. It’s a mix of excitement, learning, and sometimes a bit of frustration, but the community support makes it all worth it! Thank you all for being such an amazing resource. I can’t wait to share more projects and learn even more! :rocket:

Feel free to drop any tips, tricks, or recommendations. I’m all ears!
