Smart Home Projects and Tips

Hi all! I just wanted to share some of my recent smart home projects and tips that might be helpful for others. :rocket:

First, I’ve been really impressed with the G5 Pro cameras. They’ve been running 24/7 at 2K resolution without any issues. I set them up to record to my NAS, and the footage is crystal clear. If anyone is struggling with higher quality recordings, just make sure to adjust the RTSP path to /1520p. It’s a small tweak, but it makes a big difference! :film_projector:

Another thing I’ve been working on is customizing my CHIP cards in Home Assistant. I wanted a more personalized look, so I changed the background color and font to match my theme. It’s amazing how a little customization can make the interface feel more cohesive. If anyone else is interested, there are some great tutorials in the forums! :art:

I also wanted to share a fun DIY project I did with my Govee stickers. I attached them to a Yeti cup and sprayed clear lacquer over them to protect the design. Now I can show off my Govee style wherever I go! Plus, it’s a great conversation starter. :cup_with_straw::sparkles:

Lastly, I wanted to mention that I’ve been using Home Assistant to send text messages to my phone. It’s been super handy, especially for notifications when I’m on the go. If anyone else is looking to set this up, there are some excellent guides in the community. :calling:

If anyone has any tips or projects they’d like to share, I’d love to hear about them! Let’s keep the ideas flowing!
