Smart Home Setup and Firmware Update Challenges

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experiences with updating firmware on my Galaxy VS 25kW UPS. I’ve been trying to fix a vulnerability and noticed that the firmware update process wasn’t as straightforward as I hoped. After some research, I found that the firmware files were located in a different section of the APC website, which saved the day! It’s always a bit nerve-wracking to update firmware, but knowing the community has these solutions really helps.

Another thing I wanted to mention is my experience with setting up alerts on my Fibaro universal sensor. I noticed that only the last two alerts were showing up, which was a bit confusing. After some digging, I realized I needed to adjust the logging settings in Vera to keep more records. It’s such a small tweak, but makes a big difference in monitoring.

I also recently explored using horizontal stacks in my HA setup to organize my cards better. While it’s great for layout, adding icons was a challenge. I ended up using a combination of markdown and custom styling to get the look I wanted without complicating things too much.

Lastly, I’ve been really impressed with how the community shares resources and solutions. Whether it’s firmware updates, alert configurations, or layout tips, having these discussions makes the learning curve much smoother. I’m grateful to be part of such a supportive community!

If anyone has tips on optimizing alert logs or has encountered similar firmware update hurdles, I’d love to hear your experiences. Thanks for all the help and insights!
