Smart Home Setup and Music Lights Adventure

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent adventure with setting up some smart home devices and a fun project I’ve been working on. First off, I recently got into the world of smart lighting and decided to try something a bit different. I’ve been experimenting with setting my lights to react to music, specifically my neighbor’s music! It’s been a fun and slightly quirky project, though I have to admit, the volume isn’t quite loud enough to get the full effect.

On another note, I’ve been exploring the integration of multiple smart devices from different brands. It’s been a bit of a challenge, but also really rewarding to see everything work together seamlessly. I’ve had some success with connecting my Govee lights to motion sensors, which has made my home feel even more automated and convenient. If anyone has tips or tricks for getting lights to work perfectly with motion sensors, I’d love to hear them!

I also wanted to touch on a recurring issue I’ve faced with my smart home setup. Every now and then, I experience random outages with my SmartThings hub, Hue lights, and Fing devices. It’s a bit frustrating because the outages don’t affect my streaming or browsing devices. The outages last anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour and happen almost every hour. I’m using AT&T fiber with Google Home routers, and I’m running SmartThings version 1.6.65-502. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot or fix this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Another thing I wanted to mention is my recent birthday, which I celebrated with some Govee lights! It was a fun way to add some festive lighting to my setup. I even created my own birthday song to go along with it. :tada: It’s these little projects that make me appreciate how much smart home technology can enhance our daily lives.

Lastly, I’ve been thinking about how to improve my smart home setup further. I’ve been considering adding outdoor cameras and ensuring they’re within the optimal range from the base station. If anyone has experience with this or tips on maximizing camera performance, I’d love to hear about it!

Overall, my journey with smart home technology has been filled with both triumphs and challenges, but it’s been an exciting ride. I’m always looking for ways to enhance my setup and would love to hear any advice or experiences from the community. Happy smart home exploring! :rocket:
