Hey everyone, I just wanted to share some of my recent experiences with setting up my smart home. It’s been a mix of excitement and a few bumps along the way, but I’m really enjoying the journey!
First off, I recently purchased the Namron Thermostat Touch Zigbee 16A and was initially having trouble getting it to show up in my Phoscon app. After some research and reaching out to the community, I found out that using ZHA instead of Phoscon worked perfectly. It’s amazing how helpful the community is! If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, I highly recommend checking out the forums or reaching out to others who have successfully set up their devices.
Another thing I wanted to share is my experience with setting up automatic lighting. I’ve been using the astro binding in OpenHAB to trigger lights based on sunset and sunrise times. It took a bit of trial and error, but I finally got it working seamlessly. Now, my living room lights turn on automatically when it gets dark and I’m home. It’s such a small thing, but it really adds to the convenience of having a smart home.
I also wanted to mention the Microbot Push/Prota Bridge I purchased. While the setup was a bit tricky at first, especially with the Prota app being a bit slow and not very user-friendly, it’s been a great addition to my setup. I use it to control my pellet stove remotely, which is super handy. If anyone else is looking into similar devices, I’d recommend checking out the reviews and guides others have shared—they can save you a lot of time!
One thing I’m still figuring out is how to handle notifications and device integrations. For example, my Blink cameras aren’t uploading videos to the cloud as expected, and I’m still troubleshooting that. If anyone has any tips or solutions, I’d love to hear them!
Overall, I’m really happy with how my smart home setup is coming together. It’s been a great way to learn new things and connect with a fantastic community. If anyone has any questions or just wants to share their own experiences, feel free to drop a comment!
Cheers,
