Hi everyone! I’m excited to share my recent smart home setup journey and seek some advice from the community. I’ve been working on integrating several devices to streamline my daily routine and enhance security. Here’s what I’ve done so far and where I could use some help.First, I installed a couple of outdoor cameras to monitor my property. I opted for Wyze cameras because they offer good value and are easy to set up. I’ve connected them to my home network and set up motion alerts. However, I’m curious if there’s a way to integrate these cameras with my existing smart locks for added security. For instance, could the cameras trigger the locks to engage when motion is detected after certain hours?Next, I’ve been experimenting with automation using Home Assistant. I set up a scene where my lights turn on automatically when I enter the room, thanks to motion sensors. It’s been a great addition, but I’m facing some delays in the automation response time. I’m wondering if this is a common issue or if there’s a tweak I can make to improve the speed.Energy monitoring is another area I’m exploring. I installed a Govee energy monitor to track my consumption and reduce bills. It’s been insightful, but I’m looking for ways to integrate this data more seamlessly into my home dashboard. Maybe a custom card or a more detailed report?I’d love to hear your thoughts on these setups and any tips you might have. Whether it’s optimizing automation, enhancing security integrations, or improving energy monitoring, your insights would be invaluable. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your feedback!
