Hello everyone! I’m new to the forum and absolutely thrilled to share my recent smart home setup journey. I’ve been experimenting with integrating a Shelly Pro 3 and Wyze bulbs to create a seamless lighting system that responds to motion detection. Here’s how it went down!
Setup Overview
- Shelly Pro 3: I’ve been using this to control my heating elements, which has been a game-changer for managing my home’s energy efficiency. It’s been reliable, and I love how it integrates with my existing smart home ecosystem.
- Wyze Cam v3: This camera has been fantastic for monitoring activity around my home. Pairing it with Wyze bulbs has allowed me to create a dynamic lighting system that responds to motion.
The Goal
I wanted my Wyze bulbs to dim to 10% at sunset and turn off at sunrise. Additionally, when motion is detected, the bulbs should brighten to 100% for 3 minutes before dimming back to 10%. While I managed to set the brightness adjustment, the bulbs would completely turn off instead of dimming after the 3-minute period. After some research and tinkering, I discovered that adjusting the automation settings within the Wyze app resolved the issue. Now, the system works like a charm!
What I’ve Learned
- Integration is Key: Combining different smart devices can create powerful automation setups, but it requires some trial and error.
- App Customization: Sometimes, the solution lies in tweaking app settings rather than the hardware itself.
- Community Support: Forums like this are invaluable for troubleshooting and sharing experiences.
I’d love to hear how others have integrated their Shelly devices and Wyze bulbs. Have you encountered similar issues? What creative setups have you achieved? Let’s keep the ideas flowing!
Cheers to smarter living! ![]()
