I stumbled upon the AD2USB plugin, which claims to support DSC panels, and decided to give it a try. The process wasn’t without its hiccups, but with some research and persistence, I managed to get everything up and running without needing to invest in an Envisalink. It’s always satisfying to find cost-effective solutions that work seamlessly!
Another highlight has been experimenting with ESP32 devices and ESP-NOW for battery-powered switches. While the initial setup was a bit tricky, especially with the ESP-NOW protocol, the energy efficiency and reliability of the system have been impressive. I’ve been able to create a low-power, high-functionality setup that integrates perfectly with my Home Assistant ecosystem. The satisfaction of building something from scratch, even with a few bumps along the way, is unparalleled.

Their ability to provide detailed energy usage insights has been a game-changer for optimizing my home’s energy consumption. Pairing them with custom dashboards in Home Assistant has allowed me to track and manage my energy usage with ease.
