Smart Home Success and Security Concerns

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a mix of experiences and questions I’ve been pondering lately regarding my smart home setup. First off, I recently attended a Govee Gaming Light Festival and it was an absolute blast! The lighting setup was incredible, and it really transformed the atmosphere of the event. If anyone has tips on creating similar lighting effects at home, I’d love to hear them! :star2:

On a more serious note, I’ve been thinking about security with my smart devices. I recently read about someone whose Wyze camera seemed to be hacked, and it’s a bit concerning. I use Wyze cameras myself, and I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to keep my setup secure. Has anyone experienced similar issues, or do you have tips on enhancing security with Wyze or other cameras? :male_detective::male_sign:

Another thing I’ve been curious about is setting up routines that don’t interfere with each other. For example, I have a rule where lights turn on when a door opens, and another where motion sensors turn lights on and off after a certain time. Sometimes, the motion sensor rule overrides the door sensor rule, which isn’t ideal. Is there a way to set priorities or exclusions for these rules? I’d love to hear if anyone has figured out a workaround for this! :arrows_counterclockwise:

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with smart plugs to control my router and modem during power outages. I read about someone who had issues with their plugs losing track of time during a prolonged outage, which caused some devices to malfunction. I’m curious if others have had similar experiences or if there are specific plugs that handle power outages better. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! :electric_plug:

Overall, I’m really enjoying the journey of building my smart home, but it’s these little hiccups that keep me on my toes. I’d love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and tips on these topics! Let’s keep the conversation going! :rocket:
