This past weekend was a true test of my smart home setup, and I’m thrilled to share how it exceeded my expectations! 
I decided to take a break and attend a birthday party on Friday evening, leaving my home in the capable hands of my smart devices. As someone who’s still getting comfortable with remote access, I couldn’t resist checking in on my home throughout the weekend. Little did I know, my internet connection would drop, but my trust in Hubitat never wavered! 
Despite the outage, my automated routines kicked in flawlessly. The curtains closed at night, opened in the morning, and my lights cycled on and off to give the illusion of occupancy. When I returned, the logs confirmed everything had run smoothly, even without my oversight. It was a relief to see that my hard work in setting up these systems paid off. 
Reflecting on this experience, I’m reminded of how far I’ve come in integrating smart tech into my daily life. From setting up reliable automations to trusting the community for support, I feel more connected and secure than ever. If you’re on the fence about making the switch, I can’t recommend it enough—this weekend was a perfect example of why it’s all worth it!
