Smart Home Theory

Hi @KevinStarks,

This is probably something that more advanced Smart Home owners run into — and it’s a really important topic. I’ve started a discussion thread where I’ll definitely include this point (Let's build a smart home (together)! 🧠💡🦾)

Maybe what we need for guests (and even household members) is some kind of “Smart Home Manifesto” or explanation that clearly outlines what a Smart Home is, what it’s for, and what it actually does. For example, it could explain that sensors simply detect whether someone is in a room to turn on the lights or regulate the climate (similar to a thermostat) — but they have no idea who the person is or what they are doing.

As for indoor monitoring, I personally consider indoor cameras a no-go. I don’t want to spy on anyone — and I don’t even want people to think that I could.

Thanks for raising this — and I’d be happy if you could share your thoughts in my thread as well.
