Smart Irrigation System with AI Camera

I’ve been struggling with my garden irrigation system for years, and I’m thrilled to finally share how I’ve turned it into a smart, self-managing setup! My zone 4 has always been a nightmare due to low pressure and a potential leak, making it impossible to automate. But then, I had a breakthrough idea: using a camera to monitor my sprinklers! :star2:

Here’s how I did it:

  1. Setup: I installed a Reolink camera and used some basic coding (thanks to ChatGPT for the guidance!) to integrate it with AppDaemon. The system now captures snapshots of my sprinklers and checks if they’re fully up.

  2. Automation: If the sprinklers don’t pop up, the system taps the valve off and on a few times to create pressure shocks. If it still doesn’t work, it skips the zone and tries again later. If all zones fail, I get a notification. It’s like having a garden babysitter! :seedling::sparkles:

  3. Results: Zone 4 finally behaves, and I’m amazed at how my garden now manages itself. There’s still some tweaking to do, but the results are incredible!

I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or has tips to improve this setup. Let’s share ideas to make our gardens smarter! :star2: #SmartGarden AI #Irrigation
