Smart Kitchen Setup with Govee Rice Cooker and Sonoff Basic

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience setting up a smart kitchen using the Govee Rice Cooker and Sonoff Basic. It’s been a fantastic journey, and I’m excited to walk you through it!

First off, I’ve always been a fan of smart home devices, and the Govee Rice Cooker has been a game-changer for me. Not only does it cook rice perfectly every time, but it also doubles as a sauté pan and slow cooker. I’ve even baked cookies in it, which is a real lifesaver when it’s too hot to turn on the oven! The ability to set it and forget it has made meal prep so much easier.

To complement the Govee Rice Cooker, I integrated a Sonoff Basic smart plug. This has allowed me to automate the cooking process seamlessly. For example, I can set the rice cooker to turn on at a specific time using my smartphone, ensuring that my meals are ready when I get home. Pairing this with my Xiaomi temperature sensors has also given me peace of mind, as I can monitor the kitchen’s temperature remotely.

One thing I wanted to mention is the importance of proper setup. Initially, I faced some challenges with the Sonoff Basic integration, but after some research and tweaking, everything fell into place. I’d recommend checking out some PID control algorithms for heating if you’re looking to fine-tune your setup, as I found that really helped optimize the cooking process.

I’d love to hear from others who have integrated the Govee Rice Cooker or Sonoff Basic into their smart homes. What tips or tricks have you discovered? Let’s keep the conversation going and share our smart kitchen setups!

Best regards,
Martin
