Hello OpenHAB Community, I’m currently working on an exciting University Project where I’m setting up a Smart Lecture Room. The goal is to enhance room capacity, promote environmental sustainability, and improve comfort through automation. Here’s what I’ve planned so far:
Sensors and Automation
I’ll be using motion, light, temperature, and humidity sensors to regulate the room’s environment. The idea is to automatically control lighting, thermostats, and the projector based on sensor inputs. For instance, if no motion is detected for a set period, the lights and projector will turn off, and the thermostat will adjust to save energy.
Progress and Challenges
I’ve started documenting the setup process and will keep you updated as the project evolves. I’d love to hear your thoughts on OpenHAB’s suitability for public facilities and any advice you might have for optimizing this setup.
If you have experience with similar projects or tips for improving automation in educational spaces, please share! I’m eager to learn and refine my approach.
Looking forward to your insights!
Best regards,
Niko
