I recently purchased the LED RGB 10-meter strip and it has been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup! The vibrant colors and smooth transitions make it perfect for creating a spooky Halloween ambiance. However, I initially had a question about whether I could control the two 5-meter sections separately without buying additional strips. After some experimentation, I discovered that by using the slider controls in my Home Assistant dashboard, I can adjust each section independently, which is super convenient!
I decided to take it a step further and set up an automation using Node-RED. Now, whenever motion is detected outside my house, the lights flicker like a candle and change to orange and red hues, giving it that eerie Halloween feel. It’s been a hit with the neighborhood kids!
One thing I’d love to see in future updates is the ability to have separate power metering for each outlet on my Eve Energy Strip. It would make tracking energy usage even more precise. Overall, though, I’m extremely satisfied with how these devices have enhanced my home’s lighting system. If you’re looking to add some festive flair to your home, I highly recommend giving these LED strips a try!
