Hey everyone, I just wanted to share a quick issue I encountered with my new Cree connected light bulb and how I managed to work around it. I’ve been using it with Google Home for a while now, and it’s been working perfectly—until someone physically turned the switch off. I couldn’t control it via voice commands anymore, which was pretty frustrating, especially since I set it up for my son to use in the bathroom.
After doing a bit of research, I found out that this is a common issue with smart bulbs when the physical switch is turned off. The bulb goes into a state where it can’t receive wireless commands until it’s powered back on. To solve this, I decided to use a smart plug to control the power directly. Now, I can toggle the plug via Google Home, which effectively turns the bulb on or off without needing to touch the physical switch.
It’s a simple workaround, but it makes a world of difference! I’d love to hear if anyone else has encountered this issue and how they resolved it. Let’s keep the community sharing solutions! ![]()
