Smart Lighting and Audio Effects Review & Tips

I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting and audio effects lately, and I just wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with the community! :star2:

Starting off, I’ve been absolutely blown away by the audio lighting effects from @GOVEE. Their ability to sync lights with music is next-level! My personal favorite is the meditation tab with the gentle night rain effect. The colors are so soothing, and the effect isn’t too fast or too slow—it just feels perfect for unwinding after a long day. I also love how the lights respond to the sound, creating a truly immersive experience. If I had one wish, it would be for more customization options, but honestly, the current setup is already amazing! :ok_hand:

On the topic of lighting, I’ve been experimenting with creating scenes for special occasions. Pride Month is a perfect example—nothing says celebration like a rainbow of colors! I’ve been using my smart lights to cycle through the Pride colors, and it’s been a hit in my home. It’s a small way to show support and add some joy to everyday life. If anyone has tips on how to make these scenes even better, I’d love to hear them! :rainbow:

Switching gears, I wanted to talk about some common issues I’ve encountered and how I’ve worked through them. One thing that’s been a bit of a headache is getting my Wyze cameras to upload event videos. Despite upgrading my internet speed and reconfiguring the Wi-Fi setup, the videos still aren’t uploading. It’s frustrating because the live stream works perfectly, but the event footage is crucial for security. I’ve reached out to support multiple times, but no luck yet. If anyone has any network-related insights or solutions, please share! I’m really stuck here.

Another tip I’d like to share is about integrating different smart devices. I’ve been using the Maker API extensively, and it’s been a game-changer for automating my home. One thing I’d love to see added is the ability to query the current HSM mode or hub mode directly. It would make creating more dynamic automations so much easier. For now, I’ve been using Rule Manager as a workaround, but it’s not as seamless as I’d like. Any suggestions on how to achieve this without too much hassle would be greatly appreciated! :brain:

Lastly, I wanted to give a shoutout to the amazing community here. Every time I run into an issue, whether it’s with lighting, cameras, or even something as specific as MQTT configurations, there’s always someone willing to help. It’s truly inspiring to be part of such a supportive and knowledgeable group. Here’s to many more projects and problem-solving sessions ahead! :handshake:

If anyone has any questions, tips, or just wants to share their own smart home adventures, hit me up! Let’s keep the creativity flowing! :bulb::sparkles:
