I’ve been absolutely thrilled with how smart lighting and automation have transformed my home! 
From setting up mood lighting scenes to automating my daily routines, it’s been a game-changer. I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips in case anyone else is looking to dive into the world of smart home tech.
One of my favorite setups is using the Govee RGB Basic 10m LED strip for creating custom lighting scenes. The vibrant colors and smooth transitions have really brought my space to life. I’ve even experimented with different color schemes for holidays and events, which has been a lot of fun! 
For automation, I’ve been exploring the Lutron Aurora button to cycle through scenes. It’s incredibly intuitive—just a quick tap to switch between preset modes. I’ve set up eight scenes, from a cozy reading nook to a vibrant entertainment area. It’s so convenient to have everything controlled with one simple button!
I also wanted to mention the importance of researching compatible devices and brands. After some trial and error, I’ve found that integrating devices from different brands can sometimes be tricky, but it’s definitely possible with the right setup. For example, linking my Google Home to my Homey system has allowed me to trigger flows with voice commands, which is amazing!
One thing I’ve learned is to always test and tweak your automations. What works one day might need adjusting based on your habits. For instance, I initially set my lights to dim automatically at night, but I found that having a brighter pathway was safer. Simple adjustments like these make a big difference!
