Smart Lighting and Minimote: A User's Experience and Suggestions

I’ve been exploring the Smart Lighting app with my Minimote remotes, and it’s been quite an adventure! While the setup was straightforward, I’ve encountered a curious issue that I’d love to get some feedback on.

The Setup
I’ve got three Minimote remotes, all programmed identically to control my smart lights. Initially, everything worked smoothly—turning lights on and off with a simple button press. However, an unexpected quirk emerged when using multiple remotes.

The Issue
Here’s what happens: If I turn on a light using Button 1 on Remote 1, I can turn it off again with the same button. But if I use Button 1 on Remote 2 to turn off the light, I have to press the button twice. It seems like each remote maintains its own on/off status, leading to this inconsistency. This behavior is specific to the Smart Lighting app; other apps like Core handle it seamlessly.

My Thoughts
I can see how this might be a challenge for users who prefer having multiple remotes around the house. Ideally, the app would reference the actual state of the light, ensuring consistency regardless of which remote is used. It would be fantastic if the Smart Lighting app could adopt this approach, making the experience more intuitive for everyone.

Looking Ahead
I’m excited to see how this feature evolves. A more unified approach to handling device states across remotes would undoubtedly enhance the user experience. If anyone has encountered similar issues or has suggestions, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
