I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting and security lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with the community. ![]()
Starting with lighting, I’ve been a huge fan of integrating my Hue bulbs with SmartThings. It’s amazing how seamless the integration is, and the ability to control everything from one app is a game-changer. However, I did run into an interesting issue with two of my Hue bulbs where one would dim just a split second faster than the other. It was a bit frustrating, but I discovered that switching to a different virtual dimmer in SmartThings helped mitigate the issue. If anyone else is experiencing this, I’d recommend trying out various dimmer settings to find the perfect balance! ![]()
On the security front, I’ve been experimenting with Arlo Pro 3 cameras. The integration with SmartThings has been pretty smooth, but I did notice a peculiar behavior. When I switch modes in SmartThings, the cameras are supposed to turn off, but occasionally they still detect motion even when they’re supposed to be inactive. This usually happens when I walk by, and the spotlight flickers on. It’s a minor inconvenience, but it’s something I’d love to see addressed in future updates. If anyone has a workaround or a solution, I’d be thrilled to hear about it! ![]()
Another project I’ve been working on is setting up a basic automation for my bathroom lights using the Govee app. It’s been a fun way to customize the lighting experience, and I’m excited to explore more features as I get more comfortable with the setup. If you’re into DIY lighting projects, I highly recommend giving Govee a try! ![]()
