I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting and automation, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with the community. 
First off, I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my Govee LED strips and light bars. They’ve transformed my home into a customizable wonderland, and the fact that I don’t need to paint anymore is a huge bonus! 
Whether I want my room green, orange, or even black (a bit tricky, but doable), Govee has got my back. Huge shoutout to @GOVEE for creating such versatile products! 
On the automation front, I’ve been experimenting with setting up a system that turns on my office lights when I wake up my computer and turns them off after a delay when the computer goes to sleep. My current setup works, but it feels a bit clunky. I’m curious if there’s a cleaner, more streamlined approach out there. Any recommendations or examples would be greatly appreciated! 
Another topic I’ve been exploring is device compatibility, especially with older systems. I have a wired Hills alarm system that I’d love to integrate with Home Assistant. It works perfectly on its own, but finding the right integration has been a bit of a challenge. Has anyone successfully integrated an older wired system with Home Assistant? Any tips or resources would be invaluable! 
Lastly, I’ve been thinking about security cameras and the importance of reliable recording. While I love the idea of having HD live feeds, the monthly fees for cloud storage can be a bit steep. I’m wondering if there’s a way to connect a local storage device or a small computer to record footage without relying on the cloud. Any thoughts or experiences on this would be fantastic! 
Overall, I’m loving the journey of creating a smarter, more connected home. It’s a constant learning process, and I’m grateful for communities like this that help us all along the way. Happy tinkering, everyone!
