Smart Lighting Automation and Device Integration

Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart lighting automation and wanted to share my journey and some questions I have along the way. I recently set up several LED strips around my home, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to control them all seamlessly. I’ve heard great things about grouping devices in the Shelly app, but I’m curious if anyone has experience with controlling multiple RGBW2 devices simultaneously. Can I easily switch them all on and off at once, or change their colors collectively? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated! Another thing I’m exploring is integrating my Hue wall switch modules into a three-way setup. I have two switches—one double and one single—that I want to use to control my bedroom lights. However, wiring them with the Hue modules has been a bit of a puzzle, especially with the double switch. If anyone has successfully tackled a similar setup, I’d love to hear about your experience or any resources that helped you out. On the software side, I’m looking into automating my lighting based on sunrise and sunset times. I want one light to stay on throughout the night and turn off only after sunrise. Is there a way to set this up so that specific lights in a group don’t respond to off commands under certain conditions, like when it’s still dark outside? I’d love to hear if anyone has achieved something similar or has any advice on how to approach this. Lastly, I’m also interested in logging temperature and power consumption data. I have a mix of devices, including a Goodwe inverter and smart meters, and I want to track energy usage and temperature changes over time. If anyone has experience with logging tools like Grafana or InfluxDB, or has tips on setting up an efficient system for data collection, I’d be grateful for your insights. This journey into smart home automation is both exciting and a bit overwhelming, but I’m learning so much along the way. Looking forward to hearing from the community and picking up some new tips and tricks!
