Smart Lighting Automation and Motion Sensor Integration Tips

Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with you. First off, I successfully set up a RGB light strip behind my TV using a WLED controller. It’s been a game-changer for creating immersive viewing experiences! :clapper::sparkles:

However, I ran into a bit of a snag when trying to automate the lights to turn on and off with my Sony Android TV. After some trial and error, I realized the issue was with the state triggers in my configuration. I ended up using the playing state for turning on and idle for turning off, which worked like a charm! :dart:

Another project I’ve been working on involves integrating motion sensors and door sensors to control lights in different areas of my home. I wanted the lights to stay on for 10 minutes unless motion was detected again. It took some tweaking, but I finally got it sorted using a combination of delays and state resets. :clock3::bulb:

For anyone looking to extend their Zigbee network, I’d highly recommend checking out the TuYa repeaters. They’re affordable and super easy to set up. I added two of them, and it’s made a world of difference in coverage around my home. :hammer_and_wrench::sparkles:

If you’re just starting out, my advice is to take it one step at a time and not get overwhelmed by all the options out there. Every small automation you set up is a victory and brings you closer to your smart home goals! :rocket:

Let me know if you have any questions or tips of your own – I’d love to hear how you’re transforming your space! :hugs:
