Hey everyone, I’ve been experimenting with automating my smart lights based on the power usage of my TV. I created a simple Piston that turns on my TV’s light strip when the TV is on and turns it off when it’s off. However, I’ve noticed an issue where the light strip occasionally flickers on and off even when the TV is actively in use. This happens when the screen goes dark, as the power usage drops significantly.
I have a few questions and would love some advice:
- How can I configure the Piston to only turn off the light strip when the power usage is consistently below 24 watts for at least 5 seconds?
- It seems the Piston only triggers when there’s a change in power usage. Is there a way to set it to periodically check the power usage, even when there’s no change?
I’m also curious if anyone has implemented similar automation for other devices or has tips on optimizing such setups. It would be great to hear your experiences and any tricks you’ve picked up along the way!
Looking forward to your insights and tips. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! ![]()
