I’ve been trying to set up a smart lighting system in my office, but it’s been quite the journey. Months ago, I started experimenting with different automation rules—trying out Room Lighting, Motion Lighting, and even Rule Machine (RM). The goal was simple: have the lights turn on with motion and off after 10 minutes, except during weekdays from 7 AM to 3:30 PM when they should stay on.
Initially, I thought a basic motion sensor rule would suffice, but even that hasn’t worked consistently. Here’s the current rule I’m using, but it’s not behaving as expected. 
For a while, I managed to get something working with RM, but it required three separate rules. I’m hoping there’s a more streamlined approach. Now that I can’t even get a basic motion rule to work, I’m questioning whether I should revisit my RM rules or if there’s a better way altogether.
Has anyone successfully implemented a similar setup? Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!
