Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart lighting automation and I’ve hit a snag that I can’t quite figure out. Let me share my experience and see if anyone has some insights or tips to help me out!
So, I’ve set up a routine where my bedroom lights turn on 10 minutes after sunset. That part works like clockwork—no issues there. But the real challenge is getting them to turn off at 9 PM sharp. Sometimes, they stay on all night, which is not ideal, especially when I’m trying to keep my energy usage in check.
I’ve scoured through the settings and logs, but I can’t spot any triggers that might be causing the lights to stay on. The Recently tab is flooded with power consumption data, making it hard to pinpoint the issue. It’s frustrating because the system seems to work perfectly in the morning but fails at night.
I’m starting to wonder if the Smart Lighting feature is running in the cloud. Could it be that there’s a delay or overload on the server side at 9 PM, causing the automation to fail? I’ve heard that peak times can sometimes cause hiccups in cloud-based systems, but I’m not entirely sure how to verify this.
If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has some troubleshooting steps, I’d be really grateful for the advice. Maybe there’s a configuration tweak or a different approach to setting up the automation that I’m missing. Let’s brainstorm together!
Thanks in advance for your help, and happy automating! ![]()
