Smart Lighting Automation with FS20 WS1

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey! My latest project involved integrating a FS20 WS1 smart switch into my hallway lighting system. The goal was to automate the lights using a motion sensor and a timer while keeping the original manual switch functional for emergencies.

Here’s what I did:

  1. Setup: I installed a motion sensor and connected it to the FS20 WS1 switch. The switch was configured in toggle mode to ensure it simply alternates the light state when triggered.

  2. Automation: I created a macro that activates the light when motion is detected after sunset or before sunrise. The light stays on for 60 seconds before turning off automatically. This ensures energy efficiency while still providing convenience.

  3. Testing & Tweaks: Initially, I faced some timing issues where the light would turn off too quickly. After adjusting the macro logic and ensuring all components were properly registered in my Homematic system, everything started working seamlessly.

The result? A fully automated lighting system that’s both user-friendly and energy-efficient. It’s amazing how integrating smart devices can enhance daily routines without losing the simplicity of traditional controls.

If you’re looking to automate your lighting, I highly recommend exploring the FS20 WS1 switch. It’s versatile and works perfectly with motion sensors and timers. Happy automating! :rocket:
