Smart Lighting Automation with Hue and Motion Sensors

I’ve been experimenting with integrating Philips Hue outdoor lights with motion sensors for enhanced security and convenience. The setup involves two Hue outdoor lights that I typically keep at 50% brightness. My goal is to have them automatically increase to 100% when motion is detected and then decrease back to 50% after a few minutes. While the initial part of the automation works seamlessly, I encountered a challenge in adjusting the dimmer level after the motion stops. After some research and tinkering, I found a workaround using the ST v2 hub to schedule the dimmer adjustment after a set period. This solution not only enhances security but also ensures energy efficiency by automatically reducing brightness when no motion is detected. It’s fascinating how combining different smart devices can create such a practical and eco-friendly setup!
