Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and challenges. First off, I recently installed some smart RGB lights and a couple of Wyze cameras. While I love the convenience, I’ve been having some issues with connectivity. The lights work perfectly through the app, but sometimes Alexa doesn’t recognize them, which is a bit frustrating. I’m still trying to figure out if it’s a network issue or something else. If anyone has tips, I’d love to hear them!
On a more positive note, I’ve been experimenting with using temperature sensors to detect potential fire hazards. I’ve set up a system where multiple sensors monitor the attic, and I’ve written a script to track temperature changes. The idea is to compare readings from all sensors and alert me if there’s an unusual spike. It’s a bit of a DIY project, but I’m excited to see how it works out. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or has suggestions for improving the system.
Another thing I wanted to mention is how I’ve been organizing my smart devices. I found that keeping track of which button does what on my WallMotes was getting confusing, especially when we move things around. So, I decided to make some labels for them. They’re not fancy, but they’ve really helped reduce frustration. If anyone is interested, I can share the template I used!
All in all, it’s been a mix of triumphs and trials, but I’m learning so much along the way. I’d love to hear about your experiences and any tips you might have for overcoming these kinds of challenges. Happy smart home hacking! ![]()
