Hey everyone! I’m really excited to share my recent journey into integrating smart lighting into my home. I’ve been using Philips Hue for a while now, and while it’s fantastic, I wanted to explore more options, especially since I’ve gone all-in on home automation.
I recently purchased some Hey! Smart Lights and paired them with Aqara wireless mini switches. The idea was to have physical buttons for controlling the lights, which I find more convenient than app or voice control. However, getting everything to work seamlessly hasn’t been without its challenges.
Initially, I tried setting everything up through the Alexa app, hoping the Aqara skill would handle the integration. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work as expected. That’s when I decided to dive deeper into Hubitat and see if I could create a custom setup. After some research and trial and error, I managed to configure the Aqara switches to control the Hey! Lights through Hubitat. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but the result is exactly what I was hoping for—a reliable, integrated system that combines the best of both worlds.
If anyone else is looking to do something similar, I’d be happy to share my setup details or troubleshoot any issues you might encounter. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make our homes smarter! ![]()
